Funded Defibrillator Programme
As you may know, cardiac arrests can happen at any time, to anyone – but new research suggests your survival could depend on where it happens. BHF’s new funded defibrillator programme gives you and your community the chance of survival it deserves by providing for free:
❤️ Defibrillator
❤️ Cabinet
❤️ Installation and maintenance support
Research from Warwick University found that out-of-hospital cardiac arrests (OHCAs) happen more frequently in deprived areas, and that people in these areas are less likely to have access to defibrillators. It’s a terrifying reality - that those who need defibrillators most, have the least. BHF is committed to turning the tide on this inequality, helping save lives in communities that could be like yours or that someone you love lives in. Statistics indicate that when an OHCA happens in the UK the survival rate is currently less than 10%. Early CPR and defibrillation can more than double someone chance of survival in some cases.
Our funded defibrillator programme reduces any financial worries and covers the costs of a public access defibrillator, a cabinet, installation (if required) and replacement items such as pads and batteries will be replaced when they expire or used in a rescue over the lifetime of the defibrillator.
You can apply to our programme today, and make sure your community is equipped to help save lives if the worst was to happen.
This project has been supported by fundraising from BHF's charity partner, Royal Mail.
To ensure defibrillators are provided to the communities that need them the most, a criteria has been put in place and you must be applying on behalf of a community group.
If you’re not sure if your organisation is eligible, please email defibs@bhf.org.uk before applying.
