Through the Local Wellbeing Networks, we have the collective vision of facilitating community mobilisation to improve the health and wellbeing of all Islington’s residents. We will achieve this by bringing together as many stakeholders as possible to develop a common goal, and promote active participation in identifying needs and being part of the solution; empowering communities and enabling communities to initiate and control their own development through:

  • Supporting the Voluntary, Community and Faiths Sector through supporting the development and management of effective, sustainable networks.

  • Mobilising people to address key issues and challenges.

  • Providing information and intelligence.

  • Facilitation the formation of projects and partnerships.

Connect: providing a mechanism for local Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector organisations and residents come together to learn, exchange, mobilise, develop, and deliver programmes of work to improve the health and wellbeing of all Islington residents, especially those experiencing health inequalities.

See how we are connecting through our Network Connections Map.

Co-delivery: building strong relationships with diverse communities as co-deliverers of joined-up health and wellbeing services and activities, recognising the role of the community as effective first responders.

Community Voice: listen and respond to the real-life experiences of people facing health inequalities, encouraging their mobilisation for change, and involving them in the design and implementation of projects that address systemic issues.
