What is the Ben Kinsella Award?
The Ben Kinsella Award is a special youth award to celebrate a young person whose positive actions and endeavours have made their mark on the local community, for example by:
· volunteering to support others
· going the extra mile to improve their local area
· taking part in initiatives to benefit members of their community.
The young person you are nominating must be an Islington resident and be aged 18 or under as of Monday 29 January 2024.
Why is the Ben Kinsella Award important?
“The Ben Kinsella Award recognises the extraordinary contribution that young people make to the lives of others. Their selfless stories of courage, resilience, and compassion are an inspiration to us all. We encourage everyone to join us in promoting this prestigious award so the incredible work being done by young people in Islington is given the recognition it deserves." – Patrick Green, CEO of the Ben Kinsella Trust
Why should I make a nomination?
“For the young people you nominate, for other young people who might be inspired when they see their friends or peers getting recognised for their efforts and for your organisation to celebrate the great work you are doing, I cannot recommend putting a young person forward for this award highly enough. It has been transformational for us, and I hope it will be for you too.” – Senior Youth Worker at an Islington Youth Centre
