Talk for Heath Online Taster Session: Learn to Talk for a Fit Mind

*Please note, this event will take place on zoom. You will receive a zoom link in your confirmation email and in another email just before the event starts

In today's society it is all too easy to feel lonely and disconnected from others and this can have a negative impact on our emotional health and the quality of our life.

Here at Talk for Health we know that true connection happens when we let go of our social masks and start being who we really are. This is why we run our Tasters, Full Programmes and T4H Cafes: to help you feel more connected to yourself and other people.

We invite you to come and enjoy a Taster session, which is FREE, to find out if it is right for you.

The Taster will give you a chance to experience some of the four key learning areas of our full programme:

  • Open and truthful talking

  • Empathic listening

  • Basic counselling skills

  • How to set up an ongoing group to take care of your own wellbeing and enable others to do so

The Taster will give you a chance to experience some of the four key learning areas of our full programme:

  • Open and truthful talking

  • Empathic listening

  • Basic counselling skills

  • How to take care of your own wellbeing and help others take care of theirs in an ongoing peer support group

To make our taster sessions the best possible introduction to what we offer, there will be an element of small-group personal sharing in the session. You will not be asked to share on any particular topic or to talk about anything you don’t feel comfortable sharing, but we will ask you to share on a topic of your choice and to listen attentively to other participants’ shares.

You might like to think about some of the following questions before the day of the taster:

• What might it feel like to share in front of a group?

• What might it feel like to listen to others sharing?

• When was the last time you had a conversation where you felt a deep sense of connection and felt better afterwards?

• Would you like more such conversations in your life? Why / why not?

Come join us and learn how to talk to for a fit mind!

After the Taster, you can go straight into a Talk for Health Cafe, where you will learn peer counselling skills as well as have plenty of space to talk and get/give support. You can also sign up to the Full 4-day Talk for Health Peer Counselling Programme to deepen your knowledge, skills, and get even more space to share.

If you have any questions, or are unable to sign-up using Eventbrite, please call or text 'call me' on 02034 093201 or email info@talkforhealth.co.uk.

Please note that if at any point either before or during the programme facilitators feel that by taking part there is a risk of detriment to your wellbeing then you will not be allowed to continue with the programme. Facilitators will support with suggestions for alternative referrals. We apologise for the inconvenience, but for legal reasons under eighteens, babies, and animals will not be permitted to attend.
